Accessibility statement
Tactical Hazmat Ltd wants as many people as possible to be able to use this website. This statement applies to www.tacticalhazmat.com.
Our legal position
Tactical Hazmat Ltd is a private company. The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to us directly. Many of our customers are public bodies, so we have chosen to aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we follow the structure of the government's model accessibility statement. We also have duties under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people who use our services, including this website.
How accessible this website is
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. We have not yet had the website independently audited, so we do not claim that it fully meets that standard. We have checked it ourselves using automated tools and by testing with a keyboard. We have not yet tested it with screen readers or with disabled users.
The website is designed so that you can:
- use it with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to main content” link on every page;
- navigate it using page landmarks and a logical heading order;
- zoom text to 200% and view it at 320 pixels wide without scrolling sideways;
- choose a light or dark colour theme, or let your device choose;
- use it with forced colours (Windows high contrast) and reduced-motion settings; and
- print any page on A4.
Known limitations
- The training calendar is a table. On narrow screens each row is shown as a block.
- The logo is an image and is shown on a white panel so that it stays legible.
- The “Show the address to copy” button uses a script and a spoken status message. We have not yet tested it with screen readers or voice control software.
Feedback and alternative formats
If you find a problem or need information in another format (for example large print, plain text or audio), please call +44 (0)1386 257999 or use the email address on our contact page. If neither of these works for you, please tell us what would, and we will arrange another way to deal with your enquiry.
We will reply as soon as we can and do our best to put the problem right.
If you are not happy with our response
Please tell us first so we can put things right. You can also contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com (another website), which gives free advice and can help resolve disputes. The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has powers to enforce the Equality Act 2010 in serious cases. It does not deal with individual complaints; EASS can advise you on your options.
Technical information
This website uses WordPress with the original HTML and CSS design. A small amount of JavaScript supports the small-screen menu, homepage slideshow, theme switch, email-address reveal button and enquiry-form feedback. Training dates are filtered on the server using London time. Public pages and the form work without JavaScript when the verification question is used. If Cloudflare Turnstile is enabled, JavaScript is required for form verification; phone and email remain available alternatives.
